Have you or someone you love ever experienced a stroke? And was the road to recovery kind of tedious? Well, in a recent podcast interview Tiara sat down with her mother Barbara to speak about a horrific incident where she experienced a T.I.A known as a mini stroke on the left side of her brain, and her road to recovery.
It is said that a person’s life expectancy can drop down to about 4% in almost a year after having a mini stroke, but the results are very promising for Barbara. In this recent interview, Barbara mentioned that her physical therapist is expecting her to make a 100% comeback very soon. She also talked about how strong her walking has become in just two weeks of physical therapy.
While Barbara's future on the road to recovery is looking victorious, she still speaks heavily about the symptoms that everyone of any age should be aware of. These symptoms consist of feeling fatigue, weakness, or numbness on one side of your body, dizziness, light sensitivity, and much more. There are many benefits to recovering from a mini stroke, such as gaining strength in your mobility to walk upright, hold your balance, write neatly, and even speak clearly. For Barbara, all these things are plus the more she puts them into practice every day.
However there is the mental capacity of the road to recovery that can sometimes be just as challenging as the physical part, and in the interview Barbara did with her daughter Tiara, she expressed how her family and physical therapy team help her keep her mental stability together as she endures the process of recovering, which is why having an excellent support team around you is really helpful on the road to recovery.
