When it comes to the church, it’s main priority is to help or serve the community, but how,
How is the church helping the community. One way is through the ministries or in the church world it’s called auxiliary, meaning supplementary or additional organizations it provides, and one of those ministries is a Single Ministry or Single Group, where singles of all nationalities, with all kind of personalities, but similar issues come together to pull strength, wisdom, and love from other like-minded singles.
In the last article “The Importance of Church Community” we talked about Covenant For Life International Church Single Ministry and got to see a glimpse of how they gather together at St Louis Original Pancake House for a single’s brunch and conversation event, where they spoke on juggling life as a single saint. In this article we’ll speak to Covenant for Life Single Ministry overseer Pastor Barbara Byas and hear how she feel as an overseer and Pastor the church is helping the community.
In church there are five main categories of auxiliaries and community is the second one of the five, and at Covenant for Life International they believe in community. When I spoke to the Single Ministry overseer Pastor Barbara Byas, she said “one of the ways the church helps us as the community is providing us with ministries like the single ministries, where we can engage in different events and activities to fellowship with one another.”
There is about 45% of church students and adults that spend their time in volunteering roles to help the church with community service, and on average will spend at one to two hours, two days a week volunteering, which can be kind of low depending on the church attendance, but for Covenant for Life Single Ministry they meet every fourth Thursday of the month via Zoom to discuss different topics, this past Thursday I was able to attend Covenant For Life Single’s Zoom meeting and sit down with Pastor Barbara to discuss her thoughts on church community.
